Seahawks vs. Tennessee: A Season Ending Defeat.

The Seahawks returned to Qwest Field looking for a victory in the season finale against the Tennessee Titans. Like the Seahawks, the Titans entered the contest already eliminated from postseason consideration, but they had much to play for as running back Chris Johnson pursued a 2,000 yard season with an longshot at the single season rushing record.


Seattle's players entered the final game full of energy as they hoped to close out a disappointing season on a high note. The defensive backs gathered before entering the field during pregame.

Seattle Mariners superstar Ken Griffey, Jr. was on hand to raise the 12th Man flag just prior to kickoff and received a rousing standing ovation from the fans.

Tennessee had vowed all week to do their best to help Johnson reach his goals, and Seattle's defense held him in check early in the game. Darryl Tapp makes the tackle on this play.


Johnson tried the right side and was met by Seattle linebacker Leroy Hill.

Justin Forsett broke through into the clear up the left side for a big gain.

Seattle's John Carlson scored a touchdown, then dunked the ball over the crossbar in celebration.

Seattle's receivers also got into the act. T.J. Houshmandzadeh races for yardage in front of the Tennessee bench.

Deion Branch had one of his best games of the season, and nearly hauled in this pass from Matt Hasselbeck.

Rookie Deon Butler, playing in place of injured Nate Burleson, dove but Hasselbeck's pass was just out-of-reach.

Will Herring wrapped up Johnson in the second half. Although Johnson gained the necessary yards to break the 2,000 yard mark for the season, Seattle's run defense limited him to nearly two yards less per carry than his season average.

Seattle's defense was aggressive all afternoon.

After the game, safety Jordan Babineaux paid tribute to the loyal fans including Lorin "Big Lo" Sandretsky.

Head coach Jim Mora gathered his players around and spoke to them in the locker room after the game.

Seahawks at Green Bay: Picked Apart by the Packers.

The Seahawks traveled to legendary Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers, who needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Rob Sims was dressed to keep warm as he walked to the buses after the team charter landed at the Appleton, WI, airport.

Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley went over last minute details of his game plan on Sunday morning in the locker room.

Patrick Kerney made final adjustments to his uniform before heading to the field.

Brandon Mebane walked through the tunnel from the visitors locker room and out into the winter cold of Green Bay's Lambeau Field.

Seattle's defense started fast as Darryl Tapp wrapped up Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rogers, only to have the play nullified by penalty.

Cornerback Marcus Trufant kept an eye on Rogers before the snap.

Cory Redding got to Rogers later in the quarter, only to have this sack also nullified by a Seattle penalty.

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck had a tough day which saw him throw four interceptions, but he also set the team record for most career yards passing.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh made a nice catch up the right sideline for a 31-yard gain.

This Packers fan only need paint to keep him warm.

David Hawthorne and Will Herring combined to tackle Green Bay's Ryan Grant. Herring, who started in place of Aaron Curry, recorded a team-high eight tackles.

Seahawks vs. Tampa Bay: Nothing to Holiday Cheer About

The Seahawks returned to the supposedly friendly confines of Qwest Field to face the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who brought a 1-12 record across the country with them.

In the Seattle locker room, Seahawks P.R. assistant Rich Gonzales wrote the names of the offensive starters in the order they would be introduced during pregame.

Defensive end Patrick Kerney studied at his locker before taking the field.

Rookie defensive end Nick Reed got his jersey adjusted over his shoulder pads in the locker room.

Linebacker Aaron Curry was a study in concentration before the game.

Linebackers Leroy Hill and David Hawthorne combined to make a tackle.

Running back Justin Forsett took advantage of a big hole and raced up the middle for a long gain in the first half.

Seahawks at Houston: A Texas Sized Defeat.

The Seahawks rode a two-game winning streak to Houston, where they would face the Texans at Reliant Stadium.

Soon after the team buses arrived at Reliant Stadium, center Chris Spencer began to get loose on a stationary bike in a lone hallway in the visitor's locker room.

Safety Deon Grant taped up his hands before heading out to the field.

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck threw warmup passes long before fans filled the stands.

Head coach Jim Mora greeted his players as they returned to the locker room for their final preparations before kickoff.

Rookie Deon Butler trotted onto the grass as the Seahawks were introduced.

Seahawks vs. San Francisco: Playing to the Final Whistle

The Seahawks returned home to face division rival San Francisco after spending three straight weeks on the road. Seattle sought to avenge an earlier defeat at the 49ers in Week 2, and also looked to build on last week's victory at St. Louis.

Hours before kickoff in his office at Qwest Field, head coach Jim Mora conferred with head trainer Sam Ramsden, running backs coach Kasey Dunn and special teams coach Bruce DeHaven.

Just prior to taking the field for pregame warmups, Seattle's defensive backs got pumped up.

As fans looked on, Seahawks players joined hands before kickoff.

Members of the Lakewood Police Department were guests of the Seahawks, as they grieved last weekend's tragic shooting of four of their officers. Wide receiver Nate Burleson was one of many Seahawks who paid their respects before the game.

Taima the Hawk took to the air in leading the team out of the tunnel for pregame introductions.

San Francisco's next drive was halted when Jordan Babineaux forced a fumble, which was returned by teammate Josh Wilson into 49ers territory, setting up a Seattle field goal.

No offensive play was bigger than this catch by rookie receiver Deon Butler, that set up a game-winning field goal for Olindo Mare.
