The Seahawks traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to face the Cardinals in an NFC West matchup. Despite a better performance than in the first game against the Cardinals, the Seahawks saw an early 14-0 lead dissipate in a 31-20 defeat.

Hours before kickoff, offensive coordinator Greg Knapp went over his game plan in the locker room.

Defensive linemen Red Bryant and Derek Walker worked on technique on the field long before fans entered the stadium.

Matt Hasselbeck made his way slowly through the tunnel during pregame introductions, but once he emerged onto the field, he pumped up the crowd to a thunderous ovation.

Facing fourth-and-one at the Seahawks one-yard line, Jacksonville elected to challenge the Seattle defense. Quarterback David Garrard rolled to his right but Seattle linebackers Aaron Curry and Lofa Tatupu forced Garrard to throw the ball away, ending the Jags' most serious scoring threat.

With Garrard on the ground along the sideline, Seattle head coach Jim Mora led the cheers for his defense as they kept Jacksonville scoreless.

In a gesture of true sportsmanship, Mora had the presence of mind to help Garrard back to his feet after the play.
